Aaron and I were able to get away for the Valentine's weekend, so we drove to Palm Springs for some R&R! We had such a great time. The Riviera Resport we stayed at was so fun and retro funky cool... we loved it. We saw celebrities, ate the most amazing food for 4 straight days (I mean it - no fast food, not even once!!!), had a couples massage and generally enjoyed our time away. Yeah for us!
Hiking in Tahquitz Canyon
This resort was THE place to see and be seen in the 60's. Where the rat pack and Marilyn Monroe and the likes would go to get away from Hollywood. It recently went under a huge renovation and reopened in October. They kept the way cool 60's retro vibe going, but with a cool modern fusion flare! Every nook and cranny, chair and light fixture was just so cool. It is rapidly becoming the NEW place to see and be seen. We sat in the Buddha lounge waiting for our spa treatment with Alyssa Milano, hung by the pool with Bob Harper (Biggest Loser) and Bo from the Dukes of Hazard (a little older now, but still way trippy). No - I didn't talk to anyone even though I was DYING to, but you know - Had to play all cool, like I run into celebrities every day. I am pretty sure I pulled it off! LOL!
We have a gazillion of these dorky shots where we set up the camera to get a shot of us together, but we had a blast trying OVER and OVER again!
Of course, Aaron got to golf (while I spent the day at the spa - HEAVENLY)! This was at the Classic Club, which turned out to be just an amazing course - one of the best he has played - and Aaron would say this was his HEAVENLY day! It was so neat - He even brought me back to show me, and so we could take some pics. What a cute hubby I have!
Funky cool chairs where everywhere
The second I walked into this place and passed by these silver lounge chairs, I told Aaron we would be taking a pic in them and it was high on my priority list! Done! Love them!
AWWWWW
This was right outside our room in the hallway, but check it out! How cool is the wallpaper, and carpet and what not?
Don't you love my Grizzly Adams! He has finally grown a full beard for me! Woohoo. When we got back he trimmed it shorter and it is lookin even better than ever. I think he secretly likes it, too. Hopefully it will stay for a long while 'cause I am LOVIN IT!
Well, we had a great time and are so very thankful to my sister Meg, who flew in from North Carolina with her son Jon, to watch my kiddos. Next post will be on that because they ALL had the time of their life. Nothing better than their Aunt Meggy! It almost ripped poor Daisy's heart out when she left. She is a great sister and such a fun Aunt.
So, here's to a little alone time with your hubby! Thank heavens for Cupid! 12 + awesome years and forever to come. Love you baby.
